.htaccess is a text file which can override server settings. If I enable the Routing in global config for Articles, it displays error 404 upon clicking an article.
I noticed that when I renamed the htacces.txt to .htaccess the icon remains like a .txt file, not like the icon of a .php file.
Joomla uses it to rewrite URLs to SEF URLs.
To get nice URLs, you need to create a menu item of type Category Blog for that category.
That way Joomla can create a nice SEF URL for the category and all articles in that category.
If you don't want to display the menu item in the menu,
you can "hide" it in the parameters of the menu item
under "Link Type" > Display in Menu: No.
